The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert warning of isolated heavy rains for two districts, Pathanamthitta and Idukki, on Monday, May 13.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the IMD on Sunday, a north-south trough runs from east Madhya Pradesh to the Comorin area and a cyclonic circulation lies over south interior Karnataka. Under its influence, the State is likely to witness fairly widespread rains for the next five days, said the bulletin.
