Yazmin Oukhellou has revealed scars from a car crash in Turkey which claimed the life of her on-off boyfriend Jake McLean.

The TOWIE star, 28, took to Instagram to share the candid snap in which she poses with her arm over her head and the scars clearly visible.

“Every scar that you have is a reminder not just that you got hurt, but that you survived,” she wrote alongside the image.

The Essex native had been a passenger in the car when it plunged 70ft off a cliff in the tourist resort of Bodrum in July.

McLean, who had been driving, was declared dead at the scene. He was 33.

The TV star was told by doctors who treated her that it was a “miracle” that she survived and she admitted it has made her “look at life totally differently”.

“I severed an artery and a nerve, that’s why I bled so much,” she told The Sun in the weeks after the crash. “Now I’m just wondering how the hell did my partner die while I’ve survived? It’s made me look at life totally differently.”

Telling how she was forced to break her own arm in a bid to escape the vehicle she said: ‘It was lay there and bleed to death, or snap my own arm to try to save us.”

Oukhellou recently told the same publication how she has been attacked by trolls who have accused her of “getting over” what happened too quickly.

She said that kind of scrutiny has been “extremely hard” to deal with, she explained: “If I have dinner out with friends, these people will post saying: ‘Oh, she’s got over it quick.’ I block those people straightaway”.

She also admits that she thinks about the crash every day, adding: “Just because I’m smiling in a picture, it doesn’t mean I’m smiling inside.”
