Yazmin Jauregui books March return for UFC Fight Night event in Mexico

Yazmin Jauregui has a date and opponent for her first fight of 2025.

The strawweight has been paired against Dione Barbosa for UFC on ESPN 64, which is set to go down March 29 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The news was first reported by Ag.fight and later confirmed by both fighters on social media.

Jauregui (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC), who entered the UFC with a lot of hype and promise, is looking to bounce back from her second octagon defeat. She was submitted by Ketlen Souza this past September at Noche UFC, the promotion’s annual event to celebrate Mexican Independence. The Entram Gym product entered unbeaten in the UFC, where she went 2-0 before going on a 1-2 slump that’s spanned over the past two years.

Like Jauregui, Dione Barbosa (7-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) also will be attempting to get back on her winning ways. The Brazilian last was seen in action in July, when she lost a unanimous decision to Miranda Maverick. Prior to the defeat, Barbosa was on a four-fight winning streak, which included victories on Dana White’s Contender Series and her UFC debut.
