Yankees Defeat Royals With Wells' Clutch Performance

New York Yankees' Austin Wells reacts after hitting a three-run home run during the seventh inning of a baseball game against the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, in New Yor

Austin Wells' go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning and an RBI double in the eighth propelled the New York Yankees to a 10-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night, extending their lead in the AL East. The win pushed the Yankees' record to 83-61, surpassing last season's win total and putting them 1 1/2 games ahead of the Orioles.
