Gangwon boss Yoon Jong-Hwan admits speculation surrounding a move to Celtic for Yang Hyun-Jun has been difficult to deal with.
The K-League side have left the playmaker 'extremely frustrated' according to his representatives as they put a roadblock in the way of his move to Glasgow. His current employers don't want to let him go in the midst of a battle against relegation and are open to him leaving in the January transfer window, but it's been claimed the Premiership champions are pushing for the summer deal to go through as Brendan Rodgers' second spell kicks off.
Now boss Jong-Hwan admits that constant speculation surrounding the attack-minded star has not helped things, and that he isn't involved in the process that has agents and club trading blows. He told YNA : "It's a club and agent problem, not something I'm involved in. I hope to work quietly so that it will not be revealed. We keep making the situation difficult by disclosing it to the media."
A spokesperson for Hyun-Jun's representatives is quoted as saying this week: "Yang Hyun-Jun's dream is to play in Europe. It's a dream he's had since he started his career as a player. A golden opportunity has arrived under very good conditions for him and the club. So he is extremely frustrated the offer has been rejected.
"In the past, when an offer came from Minnesota United, the club's former CEO Lee Young-pyo promised him he would go to Europe when the next offer came in. It would be good for the player and Korean football for him to go to Europe. Yang believed those words and returned to his club and worked harder than ever.
"So he is hurt, the club have gone back on their word. The offer from Celtic is in the same bracket as what they paid for Oh Hyeon-gyu and is more than Gangwon's combined profits over the past ten years. "
