Yamaha recall motorcycles from sale after dangerous issues found which could cause injury and serious harm

Yamaha have recalled a number of their motorcycles from sale and alerted anyone who has bought them to an increased risk of falling and injury.

The Japanese manufacturer, through Danfay Limited, is carrying out a recall of YAMAHA MWD300 (Tricity 300) Motorcycles. The affected products were manufactured from 1 February 2020 to 28 February 2022, a warning from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission reads.

A safety issue has been identified with the affected products where the Standing Assist System does not release immediately after deactivation and continues to block the front suspension. There is an increased risk of falling and injury.

There are approximately 43 products affected in the Republic of Ireland.

Danfay Limited will contact all affected customers, through their dealer network, advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer where any necessary modifications to the Standing Assist System will be carried out.

Earlier this month, a girl's swimsuit possibly sold to Irish consumers online was the subject of a Product Safety Information Notice from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

In a warning on its website, the CCPC says "a safety issue has been identified with a baby girl’s swimming costume sold on the VOVA Platform.

They said that "the risk associated with the product is that of asphyxiation. The article presents a risk of entrapment which could lead to strangulation or other injuries."

While the brand of the product is unknown, the type/number of model is C03-5-3-2. The batch number and barcode are also unknown.

The warning was been issued to Irish parents because of the online availability of this product.
