XXXTentacion's girlfriend gives birth to baby boy seven months after rapper's death

The girlfriend of late rapper XXXTentacion has given birth to a baby boy, seven months after his death.

The artist’s former partner Jenesis Sanchez welcomed Gekyume Onfroy on Saturday, according to Entertainment Online.

XXXTentacion’s mother Cleopatra Bernard said that “baby and mother are healthy” in a statement to the publication, adding that her late son had chosen his firstborn’s name before he was killed.

She said: “Gekyume’s name is derived from a word X created prior to his passing, which means 'a different state' or 'next' universe of thought.

“XXXTentacion specifically chose this name for his first born son; his family is honored to fulfill his wish and shower baby Gekyume with love.”

XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was shot dead in Florida in June 2018 outside a motorcycle shop. He was 20 years old.

Days after his death, Bernard confirmed that Sanchez was expecting their first child, referring to the news as her son’s “final gift”

At the time, she posted a picture of a growing baby bump – although never named Sanchez in her post – and told later fans that it was a boy.

Since his passing, four suspects have been indicted on suspicion of first-degree murder and armed robbery.

To mark what would have been the artist's 21st birthday, a second posthumous album was released after fans were teased with its imminent arrival on social media .

The 24-track album features guest appearances from Ski Mask the Slump God, Kid Trunks, Craig Xen, Bass Santana, Tankhead, Corey, Flyboy Tarantino, Ikabod Veins, Cooliecut, Killstation and more

The rapper’s newest offering coincides with the release of the music video for Lil Wayne’s track Don’t Cry, which X collaborated on.

X’s first posthumous album, Skins, was released back in December 2018 and featured Kanye West and Blink-182’s Travis Barker.
