The Carolina Panthers have smelled what Jordan Thomas was cookin’.
Those olfactory organs were obviously put on notice these past few weeks, as the XFL tight end has received a tryout invitation from the big-league cats. Thomas is one of 19 XFL players to have been invited to camp by an NFL team.

Thomas, however, is no stranger to the NFL. The Mississippi State University product was a sixth-round pick of the Houston Texans back in 2018.
He went on pick up stops with four more squads—the Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions—up until the 2022 campaign. Thomas, in 27 career games, reeled in 22 catches for 226 yards and five touchdowns.
The 6-foot-5, 277-pound pass catcher would be drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks on Nov. 17, 2022. He was, however, released in the middle of the 2023 campaign.
Thomas then signed on with the Guardians on March 27. He totaled 148 yards and three scores on eight receptions for the season.
