Xbox Game Pass will get another epic addition this week, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which has been called the best Star Wars game ever by some.
We gave it 4/5 and called Survivor a “hugely ambitious game” whose flaws you can read about in our full review.
The game will arrive on the service on April 25 but, the slight bitter note, will not be available to all Game Pass subscribers.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes to Xbox Game Pass as part of EA Play, meaning only Ultimate and PC subscribers get to play it. The step-down Game Pass for Console and Game Pass Core do not include EA Play titles.
This is no great shock, though, as all of Game Pass’s current Star Wars games are actually part of EA Play.
You will be able to play on either PC or Xbox Series consoles.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor follows the ongoing adventures of Cal Kestis, the star of the previous game in the series, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
We continue the action five years after that game, as he takes on the Empire. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a third-person action adventure in which you hop between planets across the galaxy, taking on missions while on the run from the Empire’s forces.
It’s a reasonably manageable play if you stick to the main storyline only, clocking in at around 20 hours. However, dig into the side content and you can possibly triple that play time.
Prequel Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is also available to play on Xbox Game Pass through EA Play. Doing so is not essential, though.
Other games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month include Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (April 23), Another Crab's Treasure (April 25), and Have A Nice Death (April 30). We expect to hear of further plans for May in the first week of next month.
