Xbox Game Pass games for March announced

Microsoft haș announced the titles coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, and they include two titles suitable for kids – and at least two that definitely are not.

Two of Xbox Game Pass’s March games are available now: Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun and PAW Patrol World.

The remaining five, rolling out until March 19, are the following titles:

  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated (March 12)
  • Control Ultimate Edition (March 13)
  • No More Heroes 3 (March 14)
  • Lightyear Frontier (March 19)
  • MLB The Show 24 (March 19)

All are available for console and PC aside from MLB The Show 24, which is console only. During that big week of releases, on March 15, Xbox Game Pass will also lose three titles in the current library:

  • Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered
  • Hardspace: Shipbreaker
  • Shredders

We also know of a few other games heading to Xbox Game Pass this month, ones that were not part of this announcement, published on Xbox Wire.

First up, Diablo 4 is heading to Game Pass on March 28 as part of the fallout of Microsoft’s mega-acquisition of Activision Blizzard

Xbox Game Pass will also get Open Roads from Annapurna Interactive on March 28. It’s a road trip narrative adventure.

Here’s a closer look at the games the Xbox team did announce as part of this latest batch.

Xbox Game Pass March games

Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun is one of the few Warhammer games that received a pretty rapturous reception from some reviewers. It’s a frenetic shooter that references games of the early FPS 90s era with its no-holds-barred style, large-pixel graphics, and unadulterated action. It’s a perfect title to try on Game Pass.

The two kid-friendly games for this month are SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated and PAW Patrol World. Despite the love many older folks have for SpongeBob, PAW Patrol is the better reviewed of the two, a light open-world adventure.

Control Ultimate Edition is next up. This otherworldly action-adventure from the makers of Alan Wake 2 sees you explore a strange New York skyscraper that shifts of its own accord. You have special powers that let you rip off pieces of the wall and fling them at enemies.

There’s more violence on offer in No More Heroes 3, an unrelenting manga-inspired hack and slash title with roots in the early 2000s.

Lightyear Frontier gets its initial release in March, in early access (meaning development is ongoing), and sees you build a farm on an alien planet with the help of an Aliens-style mech suit. Bags of indie charm in this one.

Finally, we have MLB The Show 24, a title that may go down better in the US than here in the UK. It’s a baseball sim, and one that makes its debut in March. Its predecessor, MLB The Show 23, received some great reviews. Sports fans may want to put its launch date, March 19, in the diary.
