Xavier McKinney, Rashan Gary increase 2025 base salaries with Pro Bowl selections in 2024

Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney and edge rusher Rashan Gary will both earn more in base salary next season after being named to the initial Pro Bowl roster in 2024.

Both veteran players had $250,000 escalators in their contracts with the Packers.

According to Joel Corry of CBS Sports, McKinney’s base salary will go up from $2.75 million to $3 million in 2025, while Gary’s base salary will increase from $6.8 million to $7.05 million next season. The impact of the escalators will be felt on the 2025 cap.

Running back Josh Jacobs, the other Pro Bowler for the Packers on the initial roster, does not have an escalator in his deal signed in March. Who else has a Pro Bowl escalator? Quarterback Jordan Love, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, cornerback Jaire Alexander and cornerback Keisean Nixon, who are all Pro Bowl alternates. Escalators are only earned when named to the initial roster.

McKinney, a 2020 draft pick of the New York Giants, and Gary, the 12th overall pick in the 2019 draft, are both first-time Pro Bowlers.

Both players will also make money for participating at the Pro Bowl. Last year, players from the winning team — Pro Bowlers play a flag football game — received $84,000, while the losers earned $44,000.
