Xavien Howard says he’s hopeful to retire a Dolphin

There’s been a lot of business that the Miami Dolphins have had to address this offseason after moving on from head coach Brian Flores and bringing in head coach Mike McDaniel.

However, one of the issues that held over was Xavien Howard’s contract situation, and Miami made sure to clear that up before getting too deep into the new league year, as Howard received a new extension that gave him two more years and an additional $50 million.

On Wednesday, the extension was officially announced by the team, and Howard got the opportunity to speak with the media at a press conference. Howard stated that he’s happy with the Dolphins and hopes that he can retire in Miami before taking a second to record a video for Dolphins fans on the team’s Twitter account.

Since 2017, Howard has been one of the best cornerbacks in the league, making three Pro Bowls and earning one First-Team All-Pro nomination. He’s well-deserving of the money he’s making, and if he can play out his career with the Dolphins, he’s sure to go down as one of the greatest to ever wear the aqua and orange.
