It was another frustrating night in Europe for Barcelona as they were held by Napoli despite having multiple chances to take a healthy lead to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium next week.
The first leg of their European knockout tie ended 1-1, with the winner progressing to the next stage of the Europa League, but the advantage is now in hands of the Italian side.
Piotr Zielinski opened the scoring at the Nou Camp for the visitors, before January signing Ferran Torres equalised from the penalty spot, but the Spaniard wasted countless opportunities to put his side ahead.
It may have been a disappointing result for Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez, but it's led to a bizarre comparison between Torres and former superstar Luis Suarez.
Of course, the away goal rule has been abolished this season, making it less daunting than it may have been for Barcelona who must recover their tie in Naples next week.
But they only had themselves to blame for not winning their home tie, as they scored just one of their 21 attempts against Napoli, whereas the visitors matched them while only registering four efforts all night.
Barcelona started all three January signings in their new-look front line, but Torres had three clear chances in front of goal, and failed to take any of his opportunities in open play.
Xavi claimed that he was happy with the his sides performance, but disappointed with the result that they came away with, but did offer some comfort to Torres, who was frustrated with his individual showing.
The Barcelona boss said: "I have remembered it in the locker room, it also happened to Suarez in his first games, the Barca shirt weighs a few kilos more.
"I am delighted to have Ferran Torres, it is a matter of time and to continue believing, he knows that he has our trust absolute."
Suarez made a stuttering start to life at Barcelona after becoming one of the best strikers in the world while at Liverpool, and it took time for the £75million signing to settle in Spain, but when he did, it was trouble for the rest of Europe.
Torres is still very young too, and at the age of just 21 the Spaniard has already played for Valencia, Manchester City and Barcelona, while representing his country in the European Championships too.
Xavi is convinced that it won't affect Torres in Barcelona's next match-up on Sunday, and heaped further praise on the 21-year-old, as he added: "He has to change the chip, he has scored a goal that has given us the tie.
"He is not going to affect him, I and the staff will take care of that. He was angry with himself."
Barcelona must beat Napoli next week to progress to the next stage of the Europa League, although Europe's second tier is unfamiliar territory for them, as this is the first time since the 2003/04 that they haven't been in the latter stages of the Champions League.
