The X account of RSS mouthpiece Panchjanya has been suspended.
A section of social media users rallied behind the outlet while others hailed the suspension.
“X suspends accounts that violate our rules,” read the announcement on the X handle.
Newslaundry reached out to Panchjanya editor Hitesh Shankar for comment. This report will be updated if a response is received.
The RSS mouthpiece has repeatedly been accused of “hate mongering” or sharing misleading videos on X. It was last in the news for justifying the caste system.
Newslaundry had earlier reported how the Hindi weekly reproduced old stories from sundry publications to delegitimise the protests against the controversial farm laws.
In 2021, after carrying a four-page cover story describing IT company Infosys as working with “anti-national forces”, Panchjanya was back in the news for calling US-headquartered e-commerce company Amazon “East India Company 2.0”.
Several dailies had denounced the claim.
