X-Factor winner Leona Lewis has relocated to the United States and has undertaken a new career.
The Bleeding Love crooner's career switch came to light after she announced plans to expand locations of her vegan Coffee and Plants café, which currently operates in Pasadena, California. Opening the business with her husband Dennis Jauch three years ago, its success has prompted the pair to open a second location in the Studio City area of Los Angeles.
According to its official Instagram, Coffee and Plants is L.A's "first 100 per cent plant based coffee shop", serving a range of animal-free foods, cakes and beverages. Lewis, who has been vegan since 2012, opened the first location with the aim to bring more vegan products to the public.
As reported by Birmingham Live, Leona said on the expansion: "We are excited to bring our disruptive plant-based concept, Coffee and Plants, to the Studio City neighborhood. We are aiming to help the world, one cup at a time, to move away from dairy consumption by introducing plant-based products to the masses, all while giving back to the planet and our animal friends."
In February, during a candid interview with Vogue, Leona discussed becoming a first-time-mum and how she is navigating her journey with motherhood. "It’s one of the most rewarding yet challenging roles in life, I am in awe of us as women, of all the mothers out there - and myself included," Leona said of motherhood.
"I’m proud of where women are at today, carving out careers for themselves in music. But I feel like behind the scenes, it’s still very unfair, and there’s not a level playing field."
The songwriter announced the news of the birth of Carmel in a touching Instagram post back in July. At the time, the singer shared a sweet snap which showcased a partial view of the newborn's face as she cradled the tot, who was wearing an adorable light pink onesie, and held on to her hubby's hand.
She captioned the post: "And then there were three. Our little Carmel Allegra arrived 22.7.22."
