The X Factor star Josh Cuthbert has revealed he was rushed to hospital with a painful head injury after a freak accident.
The 30-year-old Union J member was taken into hospital on Tuesday evening after he was kicked in the head while playing football.
Josh, who competed on The X Factor in 2012, posted a photo of himself on his Instagram story which showed him with a bandage wrapped around his head and blood stains on his face by his nose and on his cheek.
The singer appears to be laying on a hospital gurney as he is wearing a football shirt while taking the snap and a nurse and ambulance worker can be seen in the background of the photo.
As Josh posted the image on his Instagram story, he wrote on top: "Not the way I wanted to spend my evening.
"Got studded/kicked in the head playing footie."
He then revealed: "Waiting for a CT scan & then getting it stitched."
Josh appears to lead an active lifestyle as he regularly posts snaps of himself working out.
He is married to model Chloe Lloyd and the pair recently attended the BAFTA TV awards earlier this week.
The couple posed for photos at the glittering ceremony, which was held at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank, London.
As model Chloe, 30, posted highlights from the event on her Instagram, she revealed the Southbank venue is where she and Josh first met.
Chloe told her followers in the caption: "Date night at the BAFTA’s [white heart emoji] with @sanpellegrino_uk
"(fun fact: these photos were taken in the place we met 8.5 years ago! )".
Josh rose to fame when he auditioned for the ninths series of singing competition The X Factor as part of three-piece Union J.
The band consisted of JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley and Josh as George Shelley joined during the Judges Houses round of the show.
The group went on to finish in fourth place in the live shows and landed a number of top 10 singles and a top 10 album.
George later left Union J in 2016 and was replaced by Casey Johnson, but the singer who is married to Marnie Simpson was sacked after 12 months.
The following year in 2018, Josh revealed he had quit the band after seven years to focus on presenting and modelling.
Josh later reunited with the band for a gig in London last year.
Last month, Jaymi announced his decision to quit the band and hinted at a feud.
The band now consists of George Shelley, Josh Cuthbert and JJ Hamblett.
In a statement, the Luton-born hitmaker Jaymi said: "To all the Union J fans, it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to say I am no longer continuing on my journey as a member of Union J.
"Since day one, our family of fans has brought me love, light and support and has been the main reason for me being such a driving force within the band.
"Last year was the best year of my life being back out on stage with the boys and being in front of you all again," he added referring to their sell-out reunion show at the London Palladium."
The Beethoven singer continued: "I hoped and dreamed of all possibilities afterwards, but this has not happened for several reasons, and therefore, out of love & respect to the family of fans and my integrity as an artist, I cannot sit and watch the legacy that I have tried to sustain for a decade decay any further.
"I will continue to carry artistry, integrity and creativity as my driving force, but now is the time to focus the energy I have consistently put into Union J into myself and create art and music for us all to enjoy together.
"I truly love you, forever yours."
