X Factor star Myles Stephenson sparks concern as he shares update from hospital

Former X Factor star Myles Stephenson gave fans a worrying update after hospital tests detected he's suffering from a heart condition.

The singer, 31, who won the ITV talent show with band Rak-Su in 2017, sparked concern from fans after he took to Instagram yesterday sharing shots of him hooked up to a heart monitor with wires on his chest.

He told how tests have revealed he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy — a heart condition which affects 1 in 5,000 people where the heart muscle becomes thickened.

He further update on Instagram Story: ''I am ok. I have a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which basically means in a nutshell that my heart walls are too thick and it can cause problems pumping blood around my body.

''So I have yearly check-ups. This is all very new to me as well so I am still working out what I need to do and how I have to carry myself now with regards to my heart and how much exercise I can do and stuff like that.''

The singer explained that he was forced to pull out of a fitness test recently because his blood pressure is 'dangerously high'.

But despite his health scare he reassured concerned fans: ''I am all good, not to worry, it's very new to me, I am trying to understand what is going on.''

Since finding fame on The X Factor Myles has appeared on I'm A Celeb in 2019 and MasterChef in 2020.

He is expecting his second child with long-term girlfriend Keli Hall.

Myles previously said that he wouldn't want to date "anyone that's in the public eye" and has kept his current relationship with his rarely-seen girlfriend under wraps.

The singer teased during a recent interview that he will propose to her in the future, though not just yet.

He said: "We're not engaged yet but one day when the time is right, 100 per cent. We've had a child. She gets on my case and says 'I've had your child, I deserve a ring'."

As a member of Rak-Su, he won the fourteenth series of The X Factor in 2017, with the group becoming the first all-male act to do so.
