X Factor star Janet Devlin posts nude photo on Twitter after suffering eating disorders and body dysphoria

Former X Factor star Janet Devlin has posted a fully nude photograph of herself on Twitter in a show of body positivity "in a world filled with air-brushed photos."

Janet finished fifth in the 2011 series of the ITV show won by Little Mix. Devlin actually topped the public vote in the first five weeks of live shows before the girl band began racking up major support.

Janet posted the picture to Twitter saying: "Only the online gig watchers will understand. P.s. the bruises on my knees are from my failed days of doing kick-boxing."

A number of fans reacted to the photo praising her bravery while a couple asked her why she posted the fully nude snap with her and her dog.

She responded: "Why not! In a world filled with airbrushed photos. I decided to upload an old photo in my self harmed scarred and stretched marked body. As someone who’s had eating disorders and body dysphoria, I think it’s nice to upload something raw."

One fan commented: "You are an enchanting human @JanetJealousy. Pray that life brings you all the happiness you could ever require."

Another said: "Absolutely gorgeous."

A third agreed: "Couldn't have been easy to bare yourself for the world to see. I commend you on this."

A fourth weighed in: "A lot of people will love you for this, very brave and courageous."
