The father of X Factor star Ella Henderson has been ordered to pay compensation totalling £435,000 after he was previously jailed for major frauds.
Sean Henderson, who is a businessman, was reported to have made a whopping £565,700 in criminal benefit from the offences but investigators have tracked down assets worth £435,000.
The total amount of cash the singer's dad has been ordered to pay within three months will eat up the £435,000 of his identified assets.
Back in April 2018, Ella's 55-year-old dad , Sean Henderson, was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Sheffield Crown Court.
He has since been released from prison and the last part of his long-running case, a proceeds of crime hearing, has now been settled.
The businessman is best known for being closely involved in running his 26-year-old daughter's business affairs.
Ella, who appeared on the X Factor in 2012, was reportedly mentioned during her dad's trials as part of his defence case.
Sean had first been convicted by a jury in May 2016 of conspiracy to commit fraud between October 2009 and November 2010.
Henderson owned sales and marketing company Crystal Power with another partner, but he denied any involvement in a scam which was said to have made the other man 5.4 million euros.
The other party, who was eventually named as Stephen Keegan, 50, was jailed for three years and nine months in April 2017 after pleading guilty.
At the time, the court heard that investors handed over large sums of money in the hope that good returns would be made.
It transpired that the money was used by Henderson and Keegan for their own purposes - leaving the hopeful investors suffering from 'sleepless nights' and 'immense stress'.
Judge Paul Watson QC said at the time: “The whole scheme was a deliberate pre-planned fraud designed to deprive naive victims of a substantial proportion of their life savings.”
Henderson also denied fraudulent evasion of VAT between June and December 2007 but he was convicted by a second jury at Sheffield Crown Court in October 2016.
He was then cleared of fraud in September 2017 after a third trial.
Across the three trials, Henderson gave seven not guilty verdicts for charges that he was facing.
But the cases resurfaced this week at Doncaster Crown Court - where a long-awaited proceeds of crime hearing was held.
The criminal benefit that Henderson was said to have received was just over £565,711 and his realisable assets were put at £435,000.
Compensation will be paid to two victims in the sums of £235,716 and £165,025 as well as £34,257 to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.
Judge Michael Slater said: "An enormous amount of work has gone into this case from the start."
"Those involved should be congratulated on getting this far in the matter.
"I am gratified that the two complainants will receive substantial compensation as a result of everyone's efforts in respect of this order."
After the hearing took place, Ella Henderson's dad declined to comment.
