X Factor's Lucy Spraggan looks 'completely different' as she calls for show changes

Lucy Spraggan made a rare appearance on TV today - 10 years after starring on X Factor.

Chatting to hosts Ruth Langsford and Rylan Clark on ITV's This Morning, fans couldn't help but notice how different the singer looked. The 31-year-old soared to fame when she auditioned for series nine of the show back in 2012.

Even Rylan, who has known her for many years, commented on her new look as he said: "You are a completely different woman." Lucy replied: "I feel it. I saw my mum not so long ago and she literally nearly drove past me because she was like 'I didn't know it was you!"

She had swapped her dark hair for bleach blonde locks. Lucy also looked much fitter with a muscly physique and a lot more tattoos than she had when she first debuted on the talent show.

Fans on Twitter couldn't believe it. Ryan said: "Just seen Lucy Spraggan on #ThisMorning + 1 bloody hell I didn't recognise her, she looks so different." Caroline said: "Omg Lucy Spraggan looks hella different, I suppose in 10 years is a long time #ThisMorning".

Milly said: "#ThisMorning I can't believe how much Lucy Spraggan has changed." Meanwhile, Traylor said: "I can’t get over how different Lucy Spraggan looks #ThisMorning."

The TV star admitted that she is now living a life of sobriety. She said: "I just woke up one morning and thought I just don't want to do this anymore. That was three years ago so I've not drunk in three years and it's changed my life."

Recently Lucy reflected on the past decade of her life. Her original song Last Night (Beer Fear) has become a massive viral TikTok hit and she has gone on to release a new song - Everything Changes, which beautifully samples Last Night.

With speculation rife that the X Factor could be returning to our screens, Lucy told Metro producers would need to make some changes to the show. She said: "There would have to be a massive change. I’m really keen to be a part of that change and I’ve been having some conversations that I can’t really talk about now but about being part of that change so that’s really positive."

She added: "But they do need to look after people and they need to be more frank about how traumatic fame is. I think they need to get contestants to say 'What do we need to do here?' Ex-contestants [to say] 'How can we make this better for other people?'"
