X Factor finalist Amelia Lily has revealed that she has been suffering with an injury for a number of years and added that the pain sometimes keeps her awake at night.
The singer, 28 - who rose to fame as a contestant on the ITV show in 2011 - took to Instagram this week to open up about her health and ask her followers for some advice.
She wrote about her experience on the platform yesterday afternoon (March 28), telling her followers that she has a shoulder injury which dates back around seven years.
Amelia has called on others who have faced a similar problem to give any recommendation, with her saying in the post that "any help would be massively appreciated".
Writing about her experience on her Instagram Story, the performer said: "I've been suffering with a shoulder injury now since 2016 and it's got worse and worse.
"[I've] had sports massages [and] acupuncture. I've had scans and x-rays and was diagnosed with a problem but my only options were physio, steroid injections and pain killers."
Discussing one of the listed options, Amelia added in the recent post on the platform: "And even the steroid injections won't stop the ongoing problem apparently."
The singer continued by telling her followers that at times she is unable to sleep because of the pain. She wrote: "The pain literally keeps me awake all night sometimes."
She concluded by asking for advice, writing: "Can anybody at all with a similar problem please recommend anything? Literally any help would be massively appreciated."
Amelia was a contestant on the X Factor in 2011. She competed alongside the likes of eventual winners Little Mix and runner-up Marcus Collins, now 34, on the ITV show.
After placing third in the competition, Amelia released her debut single You Bring Me Joy in 2012. The song peaked at Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart at the time.
More recently, Amelia has featured in reality TV shows like Celebrity Big Brother. She was runner-up on the show in 2017 behind the late Sarah Harding.
Amelia - who has appeared in theatre productions such as Shrek the Musical in her career - later went on to joined the cast of MTV reality series Geordie Shore back in 2020.
