WWE is in the UK this week for its biggest British wrestling event in 30 years.
WWE superstar and Liverpool fan Sheamus took time out of preparation for the event to go to Anfield for Wednesday's Liverpool vs Newcastle game - and says he's taking some inspiration from the team for his own title match in Cardiff tonight.
Speaking exclusively to the Liverpool Echo just hours before the event, long-time Reds fan Sheamus said he was planning on channelling Jurgen Klopp to win the Intercontinental title from Gunther in a match many think will be one of the highlights on the card.
He told us: "Klopp in such a short time has basically won everything so I'm trying to emulate him tonight by winning the Intercontinental title as that's the one that has eluded me. Klopp's won all these trophies so tonight I'm going to go out there and take the IC title home."
Having seen Liverpool's 2-1 win on Wednesday in person he said he was positive about the direction the club is going in. He said: "We haven't had the greatest of starts but I think that the future is bright. Klopp has brought in a lot of young talent. I was obviously sad to see Mane go but you can't let the team age, you have to stay on top. And that's what Klopp's doing.
"What I loved about the team on Wednesday was they fought for 97 minutes, they didn't drop their heads down, they kept pushing for the win. That's incredible. That's better than winning 5-0 in my opinion because it just shows that the grit that the team has.
"I don't know about the Premier League this year because Man City are off to such a hot start. But at the same time, I'm very very confident that the future for Liverpool is very, very bright."
Sheamus is appearing at Clash of the Castle alongside Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns in the main event. Tens of thousands of fans from across Europe have descended on the city and Sheamus believes this is just the start for major UK stadium events for the company.
He said: "This is bigger than WrestleMania right now. There are over 60,000 people heading to the Principality Stadium. I feel like it's going to be a yearly event. I think that's what WWE are trying to do now, they're a global company. I can see having a stadium pay per view maybe at Croke Park in Dublin, in Glasgow, London, maybe the Midlands, I think it can be a thing that happens once a year. I think these shows become more and more common all over the world."
