WWE's Gabbi Tuft says she and wife no longer have sex since she came out as trans

WWE star Gabbi Tuft has given a searingly honest account of the effect her transition has had on her 20-year marriage.

The wrestling icon, 42, this week revealed she is a transwoman and said she and wife Priscilla no longer have a sexual relationship.

Gabbi, who married Priscilla when they were in their early 20s, opened up to Extra about her transition, having previously been known as Tyler Reks during her 2007-2014 career.

"When I was 10, when my parents weren't home I would sneak into my mom's closet and try on her clothes, and it just felt right," she told Extra's Billy Bush in a televised interview, with her wife by her side.

"But I suppressed it my whole life."

The host then asked: "Priscilla came to you and said, 'look I'm not sexually attracted to women, so this is going to be tough' - how have you worked that out together?"

Admitting it hadn't all been smooth sailing, Gabbi explained: "It's been a very interesting… progression.

"Our intimate life has changed quite a bit," she went on.

"We're not active in that way right now, and what we've discovered is a whole different part of our relationship."

Gabbi and Priscilla, who share nine-year-old daughter Mia, were sexually inexperienced when they married and shared their first kiss on their wedding day.

"We actually don't have partners outside of the relationship at all. I was a virgin when we got married 18 and a half years ago - we had never kissed," Priscilla explained, adding that neither of them are looking for lovers outside their marriage.

Gabbi paid tribute to her wife for supporting and understanding her turmoil through her eight-month transition.

"There was a lot of very difficult, traumatic emotion in trying to figure out how I was going to present myself to the world. Having Priscilla by my side as a huge support has changed that. And she has been such a rock for me," she said.

The couple have been honest with Mia too, with Gabbi telling her daughter that she wasn't going outside for a while because she was afraid people would make fun of her.

But Mia reached over and gave Gabbi a hug, telling her: "Daddy, I will never make fun of you."

On Friday, Gabbi came out as trans and said she was finally able to hold her head up high after hiding for months.

"The previous eight months have been some of the darkest of my entire life. The emotional turmoil of being transgender and having to face the world has almost ended me on multiple occasions," she wrote on Instagram.

"However, the day I stopped caring about what other people thought, was the day I truly became limitless and allowed my authentic self to come into the light.

"My loving wife, family, and closest friends have accepted me for who I am. To them, I am forever grateful. Your support along the way means more than you will ever know."

She went on: "I don’t expect everyone to agree or understand. It’s not my place to change any of your core beliefs. Just know that the outer shell may change, but the soul remains the same."

"I promise to always be transparent and truthful with my journey, and to be a light to those that are in need.

"This is me. Love always, Gabbi Alon Tuft."

Meanwhile, Priscilla has been open about the "layers of processing" she's been going through as she watched her husband transitioning.

"The soul is androgynous and love is eternal. 23 years in love with a lifetime to go...," she captioned a video of her and Gabbi's marriage to date.

One follower commented: "This video is hard to watch, I can't imagine how hard this must be on you. It's awesome you've found it in yourself to be supportive, but still, I can't imagine the pain that comes with it. You're such an awesome person."

And Priscilla replied, saying: "Thank you so much for your love Riley. There have been many layers of processing which I am committed to sharing openly with all of you!

"It is my promise to share every ounce of authenticity in a way that will touch hearts and help us all to grow together as one!"
