WSL returns this weekend with three games hosted at Premier League stadiums

The Women's Super League returns this weekend following the final international break of the calendar year - and there are huge clashes at both ends of the table.

Three Premier League grounds will host games across Saturday and Sunday, including Villa Park, Emirates Stadium and Stamford Bridge. Chelsea confirmed this week that all general admission tickets for their London derby against Tottenham on Sunday have been sold.

This will be the first women's fixture to take place at the Bridge since their opening game of the 2019/20 season, also against Spurs. 25,000 fans watched on as Emma Hayes' side secured a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of a Beth England strike back in 2019.

The current WSL champions were due to host West Ham at the Bridge for their opening game of the current campaign, but all matches were postponed that weekend following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Elsewhere in the division, Arsenal will host title rivals Manchester United at the Emirates on Saturday evening. The Gunners have already played twice at the 60,000-seater ground this season, in the league and the Champions League.

Arsenal welcomed north London rivals Tottenham back in September and secured a comfortable 4-0 victory. They also beat FC Zurich 3-1 in the Champions League last month in front of a crowd of over 5,000 at the Emirates.

Aston Villa will also play at Villa Park for the second time this season when they host Reading on Sunday afternoon. Carla Ward's side played their opening-day victory over Manchester City back in September at Villa Park in front of over 6,000 supporters.

Villa sit sixth in the table on goal difference, level on nine points with Tottenham, Everton and West Ham. Reading, on the other hand, are 11th, just three points clear of Leicester  at the bottom.

Other Premier League grounds have also been used throughout this season, Liverpool's Merseyside derby meeting with Everton was staged at Anfield for the second time in three years back in September. Brighton also hosted their win over Reading at the Amex earlier in the campaign.
