Tyler Wright has missed the chance to cement her top-five status with the World Surf League's G-Land event in Indonesia resuming while she is still in COVID-19 isolation.
Four consecutive lay days were called due to poor conditions, giving Wright hope she would be free to surf her elimination heat against fellow Australian Bronte Macaulay.
But with the current world No.3 unable to surf until Saturday, she was forced to withdraw from the contest which got back underway on Thursday.
Four elimination heats were held, with four surfers in the 12-strong field already through to the quarter-finals after winning round one.
Sally Fitzgibbons, who missed the mid-season cut but was given a wildcard into the Roxy Pro, eliminated fellow Australian Isabella Nichols.
It was a blow for current world No.4 Nichols who was looking to back up her Margaret River Pro title won last month.
World No.5 Courtney Conlogue was also a casualty, leaving just tour rankings leader Brisa Hennessy of Costa Rica and second-ranked Carissa Moore of the top five still in the field.
Defending world champion Moore will take on Fitzgibbons in the quarters while Macaulay faces Hennessy.
First-round winner Steph Gilmore has a match-up with France's Johanne Defay and competition favourite Tatiana Weston-Webb will take on American Lakey Peterson, who was a victor on Thursday.
The men's Quiksilver Pro remains on hold following round one action.
