Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney plan brilliant Notts County play-off final gesture

Wrexham captain Ben Tozer has revealed the club's Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney plan to jet into the UK to watch the National League play-off final between Notts County and Chesterfield on Saturday.

Notts were pipped to the only automatic promotion position in the National League earlier this month, but managed to overcome Boreham Wood in a thrilling play-off semi-final at Meadow Lane last week. They'll head to Wembley for this weekend's huge clash with Chesterfield, with the winner awarded the second promotion spot to League Two alongside Wrexham.

The Welsh side and Notts slugged it out at the top of the National League right until the final weeks of the season. Wrexham finished on 111 points, four points ahead of the Magpies who ended the campaign with the most points in the fifth tier without gaining automatic promotion.

After Wrexham's success, the club's owners, Reynolds and McElhenney, treated their squad to a holiday in Las Vegas. Centre-back Tozer caught up with talkSPORT to talk about their celebrations and why they're backing Notts for promotion this weekend.

"I know a few lads who play for both teams and I might be going to the game on Saturday," Tozer said on talkSPORT. "But those (play-off semi-final) games were on while we were out there and fortunately or unfortunately we missed the games for obvious reasons. They sounded pretty epic actually.

"Rob (McElhenney), who was out there with us, he took the time to actually stay up and watch the game. I think him and Ryan are flying over to watch the game on Saturday because that's something that they wanted to honour.

"We are genuinely rooting for Notts County because of the way they pushed us this season and we feel like they are the ones to deserve to (go up) and I know it doesn't work that way, but you know."
