Wrexham have released 11 players following their promotion back to the Football League, while star striker Paul Mullin has had his contract extended.
Mullin scored a remarkable 47 goals in 53 appearances for the Red Dragons in the 2022-23 campaign, a season which saw the Hollywood-owned north Wales club earn the National League title to return to the fourth tier after 15 years away.
Co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have vowed to do everything in their power to support manager Phil Parkinson as Wrexham make the step up, with Mullin, goalkeeper Mark Howard and winger Anthony Forde all having their contracts extended by a year after promotion, and the club also taking up options to extend the contracts of Scott Butler and Aaron James.
The club have confirmed that talks will take place with veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster, 40, who turned heads when he came out of retirement to sign for Wrexham on a short-term deal in March.
Foster played eight times as he helped the Welsh side to promotion, saving a crucial last minute penalty in a 3-2 win over promotion rivals Notts County in April.
Wrexham say that "a discussion will take place with Ben Foster to establish if his intention is to return to retirement or continue playing," while the club also confirm that a new contract has been offered to Irish forward Liam McAlinden.
The 11 players released following the expiration of their contracts are: Ryan Austin, Kai Calderbank-Park, Malik Dijksteel, Reece Hall-Johnson, Jake Hyde, Harry Lennon, Rory Watson, Tom Jenkins, Dan Jones, Louis Lloyd and Will Mountfield, with 28-year-old defender Lennon deciding to retire from football due to injury.
Speaking after Wrexham's final game of the season following promotion, Foster said he was still undecided about staying on at the club.
"We won the league and did what we needed to do. I did what I needed to do anyway. This is a special club," he said.
"Am I going to do another year? Oh my god I do not know. I'm genuinely going to have to think about this, it's as simple as that. I've never felt this much love or welcomed as much as I have here at Wrexham. I've really enjoyed my eight games, we'll see as simple as that."
Both Reynolds and McElhenney congratulated Notts County, who came second to Wrexham with 107 points in the National League season proper, following their promotion through the playoffs on Saturday.
Tweeting moments after County's win on penalties following a thrilling 2-2 draw with Chesterfield, Reynolds wrote: Congratulations @Official_NCFC!!!! What a game, what a season, what heart. We will see you in the EFL next."
McElhenney added: "Never a doubt. Congratulations @Official_NCFC!!!!!!! What an extraordinary run. See you next year ;)."
