Wrexham have another new celebrity fan in The Crown star

It appears as though Wrexham can count another celebrity fan in their ranks - The Crown star Emma Corrin.

Emma, who played Princess Diana in the fourth season of the Netflix series, was spotted among the 10,000-strong crowd at the Racecourse Ground on Easter Monday.

The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, was sat with a friend to cheer on the Reds in their huge league game against Notts County.

They aren’t the first star to be seen at a Wrexham game, with the club seemingly becoming the latest Hollywood craze since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the National League side in November 2020.

The likes of Will Ferrell and Reynolds' wife Blake Lively have been seen at the Racecourse in recent times.

Ferrell, a keen football fan, attended a recent game in north Wales, turning up for a pint at the now-famous Turf pub in the town before the match, mixing with locals.

Golden Globe winner Emma was attending the game as a guest of co-owners McElhenney and Reynolds, who is set to appear alongside The Crown star in the third installment of the Deadpool series, and the trio witnessed a thriller with the home side grabbing a dramatic 3-2 win over their promotion rivals.

Wrexham went into the game knowing that a win would put them three points clear of their opponents at the top of the table while also having a game in hand.

However, the script flipped on its head when John Bostock put the away side in front near the end of the first half. Reds top goal scorer Paul Mullin was on hand to put the game back in the balance after the break before Jacob Mendy completed the comeback to put the home side 2-1 up.

Kyle Cameron then leveled the scoring for the visitors before Elliot Lee put the hosts back in front late on, setting up a nervous finish which saw Ben Foster save a last-minute County penalty to seal the all-important three points.

The win leaves Wrexham at the top of the table and even closer to a return to the Football League.
