Wrexham captain lifts lid on Las Vegas trip bankrolled by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney

Wrexham captain Ben Tozer has labelled owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as the “best in the world” after their Las Vegas trip capped a memorable season for the club and week of celebrations for the players.

The newly-promoted League Two club were treated to a luxury trip to Las Vegas after clinching the National League title. The whole squad jetted off to Nevada last week and enjoyed a four-day trip in Vegas as they celebrated promotion.

As the squad enjoyed themselves in Vegas, various social media posts emerged from their trip. The Wrexham players enjoying several famous hotels and night clubs in the city, including Hakkasan and the Bellagio, among others.

Tozer played in all 46 league games for Wrexham as he helped them achieve a record-points total for the National League. Phil Parkinson’s side amassed 111 points to beat second-placed Notts County to the title and automatic promotion.

The 33-year-old has now spoken about what happened while on the trip to Vegas. Tozer revealed the exact itinerary that the Wrexham players were treated to, which included appearing on stage at a hotel alongside famous DJ Steve Aoki, as well as attending a show by The Chainsmokers.

“The flight wasn’t direct, which was the only hitch, apart from that we can’t complain,” Tozer told talkSPORT. “We got there Thursday dinner time, they took us to Hakkasan for dinner which was amazing and then we went to Hakkasan Nightclub and they treated us to the best tables and it was just insane really. Almost everything was insane.

“The next day they took us to Wet Republic Pool Party which was again the best tables and the best layout for us and everything was free, then in the evening was Omnia Nightclub and four of us got to go up on stage with Steve Aoki.

“The next day was Marquee Pool Party followed by dinner out on the balcony at the Bellagio then we were at XS Nightclub where The Chainsmokers were playing, again everything was the best treatment, it was outrageous.

“Teo Pool Party followed by Teo Nightclub then we had to get up and go in the morning.”

How will Wrexham get on in League Two next season? Let us know in the comments.

Tozer would go into further detail about what happened on Wrexham’s trip to Vegas. He would also label Hollywood A-Listers Reynolds and McElhenney as the “best owners in the world”.

“At the Bellagio [there was an ice sculpture] honestly the treatment we’ve had has been almost like royalty, it’s been so surreal and the owners are just incredible,” said Tozer. “There have been talks about the owners for next time with a possible private jet.

“We had the best security, even if we wanted to go to the toilet they would take us. I was like ‘no chance’ I wanted to get in the mix but that was the sort of treatment we had, it was so bizarre.

“The honesty and the personable bits they’re doing around the town, I believe we’ve got the best owners in the world, the way that they are. They honour everything that they say and they don’t say it flippantly, so far they’ve backed everything they’ve said up.”
