Wrestlemania 41 - live: Updates and results from night two in Vegas as John Cena beats Cody Rhodes

The second night of WrestleMania 41 is reaching its conclusion, after night one saw plenty of twists and title changes.

On Saturday at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium, Paul Heyman betrayed CM Punk and Roman Reigns in their main-event triple threat, siding with Seth Rollins and ensuring him victory. Elsewhere, Jey Uso finally won a world title by submitting Gunther, Jacob Fatu dethroned US Champion LA Knight, and Tiffany Stratton retained her world championship against rival Charlotte.

There were other fun matches and results, too, before Sunday opened with Iyo Sky’s successful world-title defence in a thrilling triple threat, as she overcame Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley. Drew McIntyre then beat rival Damian Priest, before Dom Mysterio won the Intercontinental Title and Randy Orton beat surprise opponent Joe Hendry.

Becky Lynch returned to become a tag-team champion after Logan Paul defeated AJ Styles, before Stone Cold Steve Austin emerged to deafening cheers.

All that was left was the main event, as the villainous John Cena cheated to beat Cody Rhodes and win a record 17th world title – with the help of rapper Travis Scott, in a bizarre scene. You can re-live WrestleMania 41 below:

Travis Scott has been siding with John Cena this past few weeks and tonight he decided to enter the ring as Cena was fighting Cody Rhodes.

It ended badly for Travis Scott...

Rhodes drags himself up the ramp and out of the stadium. Then Scott departs, leaving Cena alone in the ring.

Cena’s music fades out, and he raises the belt. He mocks the fans for chanting, “You deserve it,” and, “Thank you, Cena.”

He then straps the title on backwards, so it’s the last thing people see as he slowly makes his way up the ramp and out of the stadium.

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:34

Travis Scott’s song “Fe!n” plays, and the rapper emerges!

For context, he was there with The Rock when Cena turned heel in February. Essentially, Cena, Rock and Scott (for some reason) are meant to be a villainous trio.

Scott makes his way to the ring and drags the ref out of it to save Cena from being pinned!

Scott now faces off with Rhodes, who hits the rapper with a Cross Rhodes! Big cheers here.

Cena then tries to sneak up on Rhodes and hit him with the belt, but Cody takes it from him... and now Cena plays the victim, pleading with Rhodes not to use it himself!

Rhodes pauses, Cena kicks him in the nuts, and the former champ strikes Cody with the belt after all!

The ref crawls back into the ring, and 1, 2, 3! CENA WINS, NEW CHAMPION, RECORD BREAKER!

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:31

Some boos as Rhodes seeks a Cross Rhodes, but he’s reversed into an AA anyway, and Cena follows up with the STF!

Cody crawls to the rope, but Cena drags him back. Cody kicks him away but Cena crashes into the ref... who’s not there to count a three from a Cross Rhodes!

With the ref down, nonsense is surely about to ensue...

The ref is down! (Netflix)

Yep! The new heel Cena takes the padding off the turnbuckle and throws Cody into it face-first! He hits an AA, and the ref is back up...

But Cody kicks out! Cena looks desperate...

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:28

This time Cena nails the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but his AA is reversed, and Rhodes climbs the top turnbuckle. Cena shakes the rope, though, and Rhodes falls in the corner.

Cena climbs, he’s seeking an AA from the top rope, and he gets it! 1, 2, NO! Rhodes kicks out, and Cena looks worried.

The former champ climbs the top turnbuckle and leaps at Rhodes, who catches him with a powerbomb! Now it’s Cena who kicks out at two!

Rhodes with another Cody Cutter, but this time from the top rope not the middle one, and Cena gets his shoulder up in the nick of time!

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:25

Oh, a tornado DDT by Cena in the corner, from the middle rope!

He then hits his trademark shoulder tackles, beginning his “five moves of doom”, but he’s doing them much more slowly than usual – he used to do them with speed and explosivity.

He smirks at the crowd, before lining up the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Rhodes kicks him and hits a scoop slam. Big dropkick now.

Cody Cutter for a two count. Now it’s Rhodes cycling through his trademark offence.

Cena’s turn to reverse! He tries an STF but is denied, before scoring a two count off an Attitude Adjustment!

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:19

Cena drops Cody with a big right hand and proceeds to stomp on him repeatedly. We’re finally seeing Cena wrestle as a heel, for the first time in over 20 years.

He taunts the crowd, too. This is great.

It’s interesting seeing Cena use a different move selection, one example being a headlock to kill time, before Rhodes escapes and lands some punches.

Cena gets back on top with a side slam, though. He then climbs the turnbuckle and taunts Rhodes before hitting a jumping axe-handle. And again. He tries a third time, but he’s countered, and Cody fires off more punches.

Quite a few boos for Rhodes, before Cena gets his momentum back to the sound of cheers. He’s hammering the champ with axe-handles on the mat.

More duelling Cena chants.

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:11

Honestly, mixed reactions for both wrestlers! We already have the duelling “Let’s go, Cena!” / “Cena sucks!” chants, while there are some fans singing Cody’s name to the tune of Daddy Cool, ha.

This one should be really interesting. Here we go.

Cody hits a shoulder tackle early, and Cena rolls out of the ring to compose himself. He spies Cody’s family at ringside and glares at them.

Back in the ring, Cody outprapples Cena, who forces a rope break and shouts, “Get off me!” before the ref separates them. Cena again steps outside to buy time.

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:05 , Alex Pattle

Cena is out first, for his final ever WrestleMania. A different entrance from the former hero; the screens are black except for white text in block capitals: “John Cena”.

He slowly walks to the ring as the crowd sings “John Cena sucks” to his signature music.

And here comes Cody, the usually beloved champion, who is facing some boos tonight; while Cena is the villain, a lot of fans would love to see him break the record tonight.

Cody greets his wife, daughter and mum at ringside, then enters the ring.

WrestleMania 41: John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

03:02

Right, then. All that’s left is the main event: a villainous John Cena aims to win a record 17th world title, as he challenges Cody Rhodes.

Cena has vowed to leave the WWE with the title later this year, which is his final year as a pro wrestler.

Here’s how we got here, as told by Greg Evans:

How John Cena, WWE’s greatest hero, became wrestling’s most complex villain

WrestleMania 41: Stone Cold Steve Austin emerges!

02:58 , Alex Pattle

GLASS SHATTERS ON THE SPEAKERS! It’s Stone Cold Steve Austin!

The biggest cheer of the night? Possibly!

Austin emerges on a quad bike, drives it to the ringside area and crashes it (kind of) into the barrier, before entering the squared circle.

He announces tonight’s attendance as over 63,000, before pretending to count every fan. He stops at 19, and makes his exit!

WrestleMania 41: Becky Lynch returns to partner Lyra Valkyria in tag-team title bout

02:46

There’s the tag! Lynch comes in, much to Morgan’s dismay, and the final stretch ends with Lynch pinning the heel!

And new tag-team champions, Lynch and Valkyria!

Valkyria holds the tag-team belt AND the Intercontinental strap.

Lyra Valkyria (left) and Becky Lynch celebrate (Netflix)

WrestleMania 41: Becky Lynch returns to partner Lyra Valkyria in tag-team title bout

02:41

Valkyria with some fast-paced offence in the early going, until she’s shoved off the top turnbuckle by Liv, and eats a big boot from Raquel.

Now the heels are beating down the Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Surely this is building to Lynch getting tagged in for another big pop.

WrestleMania 41: Becky Lynch returns to partner Lyra Valkyria in tag-team title bout

02:32 , Alex Pattle

So, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez from Judgement Day are about to defend their tag-team titles.

But against whom? We know Lyra Valkyria will challenge, but her partner Bayley is out of this contest...

Could it be Becky Lynch? The Irish star is a compatriot of Valkyria and is due a return...

It IS Lynch! The crowd erupts!

WrestleMania 41: High-flying action from Logan Paul vs AJ Styles

02:26 , Alex Pattle

Styles heads to the top rope and tries a springboard 450 splash, but Paul gets his knees up!

Paul goes for Styles’s own Styles Clash... and hits it! But moments later, AJ hits it himself!

Now someone pops up outside the ring, one of Paul’s friends, I suppose, to hand the YouTuber some brass knuckles...

But he’s thwarted by Karrion Kross, who takes them and pleads with Styles to use them himself... only for AJ to throw them away and hit Kross!

Styles gets back in the ring, where Paul pounces with his finisher, the Paulveriser... and pins AJ!

WrestleMania 41: High-flying action from Logan Paul vs AJ Styles

02:21 , Alex Pattle

Springboard moonsault from Paul, there’s that impressive athleticism.

Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm some time later, but it’s reversed, and Paul gets a near-fall.

Signature move from Paul now, as he frontflips from the ring apron onto the canvas and nails a clothesline.

WrestleMania 41: High-flying action from Logan Paul vs AJ Styles

02:14

Styles whips Paul into the barricade hard. “AJ Styles” is the chant now. Paul soon gets revenge, whipping AJ along the apron and into the ring post. The veteran crashes to the floor.

There’s an oversized, promotional Prime bottle at ringside. Paul, a co-owner of the energy drink company, walks over to it and grabs the drone from on top.

It sets off around the ring as Paul gets back to attacking Styles. Big frog splash from Paul.

WrestleMania 41: Expect high-flying action from Logan Paul vs AJ Styles

02:06

Paul emerges with a drone, before letting it fly around the stadium. Styles with a more straightforward entrance. Here we go.

Slick stuff to start, some traditional mat wrestling from both men. A “F*** you, Logan” chant breaks out.

Fun spot now, as Styles ties up Paul in the ring apron and hits some chops.

AJ Styles ties up Logan Paul in the ring apron (Netflix)

WrestleMania 41: Expect high-flying action from Logan Paul vs AJ Styles

01:59 , Alex Pattle

Since debuting in WWE a few years ago, Logan Paul has captivated begrudging fans with his athleticism.

Tonight, the YouTube star faces a wrestling veteran in AJ Styles.

This could be sneakily great, and expect at least one big, viral move.

WrestleMania 41: Randy Orton vs Joe Hendry

01:51

Orton immediately tries to hit a surprise RKO, but to no avail.

Hendry with a neckbreaker, before he soaks in the crowd’s adulation and leads them in a We Will Rock You stomp-and-clap rendition.

Oh! Orton derails his momentum with a thumb to the eye, then a signature slam. Now his trademark draping DDT.

And it’s Orton’s turn to play up to the fans. He readies himself for an RKO, but Hendry reverses into a fallaway slam.

Now Hendry does his signature turn to the main camera, grinning at the lens in the distance as it zooms in... RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!

1, 2, 3, Orton wins!

He then helps up Hendry, applauds him... and hits another RKO! He then does a variation on Hendry’s turn-to-camera, finishing with his own trademark pose. Lovely stuff, very fun.

WrestleMania 41: Randy Orton vs ???

01:44

Next up, Randy Orton faces an unknown opponent, after his original foe Kevin Owens sustained a severe neck injury.

A great reception for the legendary Orton, who has barely missed a ‘Mania in the last 20 years, and who was determined not to miss this one.

But who will he face?

Could it be SmackDown manager Nick Aldis – a former wrestler with recent issues with Orton? Could it be Scottish sensation Joe Hendry? Or could it be a returning star who’s been away for months or years...

Let’s find out. A camera shot dwells on the stage...

AND IT’S HENDRY! A MASSIVE POP FOR THE RISING STAR IN VEGAS! What a moment for the TNA Champion, the biggest of his career so far.

WrestleMania 41: Intercontinental Title fatal four-way

01:40

Now Mysterio gets some momentum, but he’s thwarted by Balor.

More back and forth action, and Mysterio frogsplashes Balor... and pins him!

Mysterio, heavily booed for most of his career and even at the start of this match, gets massive cheers! What a moment.

And NEW Intercontinental champion!

“Dirty... Dirty Dom!” the crowd sings to the tune of Daddy Cool, ahahah.

WrestleMania 41: Intercontinental Title fatal four-way

01:30

There’s the moment many expected! Mysterio turns against Balor, drop-kicking him into the ropes and trying his father’s 619!

But Balor catches his legs and proceeds to berate Mysterio, before dragging him onto the canvas and stomping on him.

Penta grabs Balor and hits a driver, but Breakker breaks up the pin. Carlito starts interfering now, as Mysterio gets closer to being pinned by Penta.

One of the spots of the weekend! Carlito is stood on one announce table, and Breakker climbs the other, running across it and leaping to spear Carlito through the apparatus! Ouch!

WrestleMania 41: Intercontinental Title fatal four-way

01:25

The match begins with lots of high-flying action from Penta, some teamwork from Dom and Finn, and some great athleticism from Breakker.

Case and point, he runs around the outside of the ring and leaps over one downed opponent to crash into Penta!

Back in the ring, Penta jumps off the top rope but is caught with a hard spear from Breakker, who then hits another. Lots of momentum for the champ right now.

WrestleMania 41: Intercontinental Title fatal four-way

01:10

Next up, Bron Breakker defends his Intercontinental Title against Penta and Judgement Day teammates Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio.

We have a feeling Balor and Mysterio (son of the legend Rey) may not be friends by the end of this one...

Big cheers for Penta, lots of boos for Dom Mysterio, and a mixed reaction for Balor. Champion Breakker is out last, with fans barking in support of him, ha!

WrestleMania 41: Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest clash in street fight

01:04 , Alex Pattle

Another table spot, but this time the other way: Priest tries to pay tribute to the Undertaker, walking along the top rope with the intention of jumping down on Drew...

But the Scot pushes Priest off the rope and to the outside, where he crashes through two tables next to each other!

Back in the ring, Drew sets up a chair in the corner, places Priest’s head against it, and runs at him for a Claymore kick! Bam.

1, 2, 3: Drew wins!

WrestleMania 41: Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest clash in street fight

01:02

Chekhov’s table: it’s there, so someone must go through it...

And they do! Razor’s Edge from Priest, launching Drew through the wood from the top turnbuckle.

1, 2, kickout! Role reversal now: Drew DDTs Priest on the steps, but the American kicks out!

“This is awesome,” chants the crowd.

(Getty Images)

WrestleMania 41: Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest clash in street fight

Monday 21 April 2025 00:53 , Alex Pattle

Expect a proper brawl here. McIntyre attacks Priest before the first bell, and they soon take to the outside.

There, Drew suplexes Priest on the entrance ramp, before grabbing the steel stairs. He’s unable to use them, as Priest stops him in his tracks... before grabbing a table, to the delight of the crowd!

But now it’s Drew who prevents Priest from using a weapon. And then McIntyre hammers Priest in the skull with the stairs!

McIntyre grabs a phone from someone in the front row (with a ‘McIntyre’ jersey on) and tweets a selfie of himself and a laid-out Priest! Similar to something he did last year.

Wow, I don’t think we’ve ever seen this from Drew before! With Priest on the outside, he runs across the ring and frontflips over the top rope, landing on his rival! The fans love that.

WrestleMania 41: Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest clash in street fight

Monday 21 April 2025 00:38

Next up, it’s a grudge match between McIntyre and Priest – a ‘Sin City Street Fight’, no less.

In other words, there will be no disqualifications, no countouts, and probably plenty of weapons!

The root of this feud was WrestleMania 40, where Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to take the World Heavyweight Title from McIntyre... five minutes after the Scot had won the belt!

WrestleMania 41: Iyo Sky wins thrilling triple threat with Belair and Ripley

Monday 21 April 2025 00:34

Iyo Sky retains!

A brilliant final sequence sees Belair hit a finisher on Ripley, but Sky moonsaults off the top rope to break up the pin!

She then covers Belair and retains the gold!

Big chants of “Iyo” from the Vegas crowd.

A fantastic opener, and arguably the match of the weekend so far – although last night’s Rollins vs Reigns vs Punk match was terrific, too.

(Getty Images)
(Getty Images)

WrestleMania 41: Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair

Monday 21 April 2025 00:30

The pace quickens now, with lots of big moves – including one from the top turnbuckle that sees Ripley and Belair fall hard as Sky flips and lands on her feet!

The crowd roars in support of Sky, who is hyped, but the momentum swings and Belair hits a 450 splash on Sky! Kickout! Ripley with her finisher on Belair, kickout!

The end is near, you’d have to think, with the way this one is building.

Ripley tries her finisher on Sky from the top rope, but Sky reverses athletically! Sky tries a moonsault but lands nastily on Ripley’s raised legs (good reversal!).

Belair capitalises with a finisher on Sky, but Ripley JUST about breaks up the pin! The crowd is fired up. This is already one of the best matches of the weekend.

WrestleMania 41: Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair

Monday 21 April 2025 00:21

A blistering start to this one, with some high-flying offence from Sky.

She’s taken out now, though, leaving rivals Ripley and Belair to square off.

Some impressive athleticism from Belair, as she backflips off the top turnbuckle to avoid a sneak attack from the recovered Sky, while Ripley is stuck in the corner.

Some back and forth, then Sky with a leap off the top rope, and a pin attempt on both opponents at the same time! Kickout from both.

Now it’s Ripley’s turn to fly, as she flips off the ring apron onto Belair. But Sky gets the crowd fired up with a springboard moonsault to the outside, landing on both women.

WrestleMania 41: Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair

Monday 21 April 2025 00:10

We open the show with Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair, as Sky defends the Women’s World Title against two former champions.

Great reaction for Sky, who emerges first, then boos for Belair. Ripley will get a lot of cheers, no doubt.

Yep, a massive, positive response for the Aussie star.

Seth Rollins win the WrestleMania Night One main event (WWE)

Heyman screws both Punk and Reigns. Rollins wins!

Sunday 20 April 2025 04:00 , Greg Evans

Paul Heyman interjects himself in the main event by sliding a chair to CM Punk to use on Reigns. However, before Punk gets to use it, Heyman hits a low blow on Punk and turns on him.

Heyman then gives the chair to Reigns who tells him to use it on Rollins. History quickly repeats itself as Heyman then low blows Reigns.

Rollins then uses the chair to strike down Reigns and pin him for the win. Heyman raises the hand of seemingly his new client as the WrestleMania main event concludes. 10 years after winning his first WrestleMania main event, Rollins wins his second.

Reigns destroys both tables

Sunday 20 April 2025 03:50 , Greg Evans

After declining Rollins offer to recreate the Shield powerbomb, Reigns decides to powerbomb Punk through the an announce table by himself.

He then powerbombs Rollins through the second announce table.

Reigns tries to get the victory by rolling Rollins back into the ring and hitting him with a spear only for The Architect to kick out! Unreal stuff.

It's time for the main event...

Sunday 20 April 2025 03:05 , Greg Evans

There’s only one match left and it’s a bit of doozy.

No titles on the line in the Night 1 main event; this is simply a grudge match between former partners Reigns and Rollins – and Punk, who has issues with both men. A key part of the build-up has seen Punk call in a favour from Paul Heyman (his old friend and Reigns’s manager), who will be in Punk’s corner for this one.

The build for this one has been a bit convoluted and while we wish they were actually fighting for something (rather than the rights to Paul Heyman) there is no denying that there is some serious star power in this match.
