WR Marquise Brown looking at potential 6-week recovery

The Arizona Cardinals suffered two big injuries on offense on Sunday in their 19-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. They lost starting left guard Justin Pugh for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury and wide receiver Marquise Brown injured his foot in the fourth quarter.

It was feared to be a season-ending injury.

There is good news.

While head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Brown is out indefinitely, calling it an “intermediate” length of time, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the injury is less severe than initially feared.

The injury to his left foot is “a small, non-surgical fracture” and he is looking at about a six-week recovery.

He is seeking a second opinion before he moves forward.

If he misses the next six games, the Cardinals will have their bye after that and he could return for their Monday night game at home in Week 14 against the New England Patriots on December 12.

In six games this season, Brown has led the Cardinals with 43 receptions for 485 yards and three touchdowns.

He will likely be placed on injured reserve this week, opening a roster spot.
