Wide receiver Christian Kirk is one of the Arizona Cardinals’ 21 players set to become unrestricted free agents next week when the 2022 league year begins.
It is uncertain whether the Cardinals will be able to re-sign him or agree to a new deal before he hits the open market.
If they do not come to an agreement, Kirk is expected to draw a lot of interest around the league, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
There are multiple teams I expect to have interest in Kirk, who could end up leaving Arizona for a team willing to pay him something in the $12 million-per-year range.
Kirk had a career year in 2021, catching 77 passes for 982 yards, leading the team in both categories. The 2018 second-round pick is praised for his approach to the game and his work ethic.
However, he is best playing in the slot and the Cardinals have Rondale Moore waiting in the wings.
$12 million or more per year might price Kirk out of the running for the Cardinals, who currently have little salary cap space.
