United close to Weghorst agreement
Attempts to sign Wout Weghorst are being held up by Besiktas continuing their search for a replacement.
Manchester United want to bring the 30-year-old in on loan during the January transfer window, but that involves Besiktas cancelling the loan agreement they have with Burnley for the Netherlands international. He does not have a recall clause in that deal and Weghorst was due to spend the entire season in Turkey.

However, the player wants to make the move to United to link-up with fellow countryman Erik ten Hag, while the three clubs have been embroiled in talks. United and Besiktas are now close to reaching an agreement to terminate the loan for around £2.5million, which would see Weghorst return to Burnley, then loaned back out to United.
United suffer injury scare before derby

Starting in a much-changed United line-up against Carabao Cup opponents Charlton, Diogo Dalot was one first-choice option selected by Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, with Pep Guardiola and his star-studded City ready to visit the same venue on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm). But there are now question marks over Dalot for that game.
Having only just recovered from a hamstring problem which he sustained while on World Cup duty, the Portugal right-back went down with a knock in the first half after Antony had given United the lead. He was withdrawn by Ten Hag on 34 minutes with Aaron Wan-Bissaka coming on in his place.
