Wout Weghorst attracts Premier League 'interest' and other Man United transfer rumours

Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst is reportedly a target for another Premier League club.

The Dutch forward arrived on loan from Burnley, having begun the season with Turkish side Besiktas. Weghorst produced 13 goal involvements in 18 games during his short spell in Turkey, as well as firing in a dramatic quick-fire brace for Netherlands against Argentina during the World Cup.

However, he failed to score a league goal in 17 Premier League games for United, twice finding the net in cup competitions across his 31 appearances. United are expected to search for strikers this summer, with Weghorst likely to head back to parent club Burnley, but the target man has also been linked with several top-flight clubs.

It has been reported by Talksport that Everton are interested in the forward after another difficult season for the Toffees. Sean Dyche steered Everton to safety this season and signed the former Wolfsburg man for £12m in January 2022 during his time at Burnley.

Current Clarets boss Vincent Kompany was recently quizzed about Weghorst’s future: "The most important thing for me – and it's a tough one for me to say obviously because of the FA Cup final – is for him personally to finish the season on a high. But still, I want him to do well and we will have the conversation."

Despite United being linked with high-profile moves for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, Weghorst has previously insisted he does not know what the future holds for him at Old Trafford. "In those [talks] the club said they are very satisfied with me," Weghorst told The Times last month. "It has absolutely not been communicated with me that Man United don't want to continue with me.

Elsewhere, The Northern Echo has reported that West Ham United have expressed an interest in signing Amad on loan, alongside Everton and Burnley, after his successful stint at Sunderland. The report states that United boss Erik ten Hag will give Amad an opportunity as part of the first team group before making a decision ahead of next season.
