‘Wouldn’t have been possible without her’ - Tiger Woods mourns loss of mother

Golf legend Tiger Woods has shared his deep sorrow following the passing of his mother.

The 15-time major champion took to social media on Tuesday to announce the sad news.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning,” Woods wrote in an emotional post.

He described his mother as a “force of nature,” adding that her spirit was unmistakable.

Woods reflected on the immense impact she had on his life, calling her his “biggest fan” and “greatest supporter.”

He credited her for being integral to his success, stating that none of his personal achievements would have been possible without her guidance.

Kultida, who was particularly adored by her grandchildren Sam and Charlie, was remembered by Woods for her loving and lively nature.

“She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren,” Woods said, thanking fans for their support and requesting privacy during this difficult time for his family.

Although Woods did not disclose the cause of death, it was noted that Kultida had attended Woods’ TGL match in Florida just the week prior.

The golfing sensations’ father, Earl Woods, passed away aged 74 in 2006.

Woods has often spoken about his mother’s influence, particularly when it came to his iconic red shirt for final rounds of tournaments.

He once recalled a conversation with his mother on The Jimmy Fallon Show last year, where she insisted red was his “power colour.”

Woods humorously shared that after trying to defy her by wearing blue shirts, he didn’t win those tournaments.

“So Mom is always right,” he said.
