Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool have proven a lot of people wrong and has shared his verdict on Mohamed Salah’s contract situation.
Liverpool won the Carabao Cup on Sunday as part of their efforts to win an unprecedented quadruple this season and Carragher has stated that the quality within the Jurgen Klopp's squad still goes under the radar.
Questions surrounding Reds' strength in depth arose in January due to the absences of Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane during the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, they succeeded in maintaining their title push and progressing in both domestic cups, while also adding Luis Diaz to their array of attacking talent.

“I think in some ways they’ve proven a lot of people wrong in this time without those two players (Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah),” Carragher told Mark Schwarzer, while being interviewed by Optus Sport.
“In that month they’ve also brought in another attacking player as well in Diaz so the squad’s been strengthened as well.
“I think Liverpool’s squad is a lot better than what it is given credit for.”
When asked who he would pick in his preferred attack, the Reds legend suggested that alhough he currently has a simple answer, his outlook could change next season.
“It’s very easy for me. I think it is a front three right now still. I just think Jota and Firmino have traded positions,” Carragher continued.
“I think it'll still be Mo Salah, Jota through the middle and Sadio Mane on the left.
“I think Diaz still has to show us what he’s about but I think that conversation is maybe more for next season.
“But I think it's going to be difficult for Roberto Firmino to ever establish himself back in that front three just because of the goals Jota’s getting now has been absolutely fantastic.”
One doubt that has hung over Liverpool throughout the season is Mohamed Salah ’s future.
The talismanic forward's current contract is set to expire in 2023.
Although Carragher understands why the club may be taking a cautious approach in the negotiations, the Sky Sports pundit feels the talks will still reach a straightforward solution.
He said: “You’d say every club would love to have Mo Salah but paying someone or taking someone at the age of 32 and giving them a massive contract... when a lot of these teams have maybe got (Kylian) Mbappe, they’ve got (Erling) Haaland), they’ve got the younger generation coming through.
“I think it’d be mad for Liverpool to let him go but I think it would be mad for Mo Salah to leave Liverpool because I think this club and Jurgen Klopp have been great for him as well.”
