A survey has revealed what may be the most complained about supermarket in the UK.
Online supermarket Britsuperstore looked into the TrustPilot data of 10 of the UK's biggest supermarkets, specifically for people's views on deals and savings.
One of the 'big four' is unfortunate to be top of the list, based on reviews from January 1, 2022.
Choosing the right supermarket is particularly important at the moment as people look for top deals to make savings, amid a cash-strapped time for Brits in a cost of living crisis.
Richard Price, director of Britsuperstore - a rival store that conducted the survey - suggested online shopping may be a way for Brits to avoid complained-about deals and savings.
He said: "Online shopping is usually an easier, more time-conscious, and cheaper method of shopping."
Which is the worst UK supermarket for deals and savings?
According to data collected in the survey, Morrisons is the most complained-about supermarket in the UK for deals and savings.
The shop scored 97% negative reviews on the platform, topping the pile of the most complained-about supermarkets on TrustPilot in that particular category.
The Grocery Gazette then revealed that 52% of the reviews across all UK supermarkets reference money as a problem when shopping, while complaints about an increase in price appeared in 19% of reviews, and expensiveness in 15%.
The news won't be welcome in what may have been seen as a good week for Morrisons, when it emerged the victor in a fierce battle with Asda to purchase dying chain McColl's.
Morrisons has been approached for comment.
The purchase of the stores saved 1,100 shops, as well as the pensions and jobs of around 16,000 people.
Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) was appointed the administrators of the sale.
Rob Lewis, joint administrator and partner at PwC, said: "As well as saving thousands of jobs, this deal secures a platform for the trustees of the Group’s pension schemes to enter into arrangements which will protect the pensions entitlements of so many people. All in all, a really positive outcome."
