'Worrying' - Manchester United fans react to Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea appointment

Manchester United fans have been reacting to the news Mauricio Pochettino has been named the name manager of Chelsea.

The Blues officially announced the news on Monday morning following the conclusion of Frank Lampard’s interim tenure. Chelsea suffered their worst Premier League finish of the 21st century this season, finishing 12th amid a dismal campaign.

Thomas Tuchel was replaced by Graham Potter in September before he himself was dismissed in April. After a brief caretaker spell from No.2 Bruno Saltor, Lampard agreed to take the reins for the rest of the season.

Pochettino signs for Chelsea on a two-year deal. He was linked with the United job last summer before the Reds decided on Ten Hag, who has enjoyed a successful debut season.

United lifted their first trophy in six years when they won the League Cup in February with an FA Cup final to look forward to after securing a third-place finish in the Premier League.

So while United are competing in the Champions League, Pochettino will play no part in European football at Chelsea next season.

Pochettino has won just four of his 14 games against United, but he did beat Ten Hag's Ajax over two legs in the 2018/19 Champions League semi-final.

United fans took to Twitter to react to the news, with some acknowledging that Pochettino’s appointment at Chelsea makes the Blues a more threatening side, while others are unsure about how much time he will get at Stamford Bridge.

@Lunga_0708: Ask yourself why United chose him over Poch.

@United_Keane23: Poch with money could be worrying.

@adrUnited: They only gave Pochettino 2 years contract cuz they know he won't last.
