Worried parents share haunting texts they received after teenagers disappeared

The parents of two teenagers who went missing after being dropped at school have shared eerie texts they received when the pair vanished.

Callum Schiller, 14, and his girlfriend Crystal, 14, were dropped off at school at about 8.30am on Monday, but they never went in.

They were last seen, wearing Murray Bridge High School uniforms, on a bus to the Adelaide Hills suburb of Mount Barker, south Australia, at 10.15am, police said.

Now, in a desperate attempt to find Callum, his family shared the last chilling messages they exchanged, including one in which the boy said he was "in a boot".

An eerie text sent by Callum said the pair are "in trouble" but added they could not say much otherwise "the guy will hurt us".

In another message, he wrote: "I gotta go or else." When his concerned family asked him where he was going and where he was, he replied: "I don't know."

After being asked what the place the teenagers were in looked like, Callum replied: "We in a boot."

The boy's sister Ebony Schiller shared an appeal on social media saying that Callum is "uncontactable".

She wrote: "Last seen on a bus to Mount barker 10:15 this morning.

"We have no idea whether he has caught a linking bus or is mt barker. Callum is uncontactable.

"Last messages include: he can't see, his in a boot, he can't say anything or he will get hit."

SA Police confirmed officers from the Murray Bridge Police station launched an investigation to establish the validity of the text messages sent.

Ms Schiller added that officers were planning to search a property in the city but said the family "don't recognise" the name of the homeowner.

Callum's father said he hoped the texts were not true but added he did not think his son would make that kind of joke, reports News.com.au.

He explained: "He's never done anything like this before, it' very out of character so we're very concerned.

"We hope everything is okay."

Callum, described as 178cm tall, of a slim build with dark brown hair, was last seen wearing a blue, white and black striped Fila hoodie, with black shorts and black Nike shoes.

Crystal, 160cm tall, of a slim build with long red hair and hazel eyes, was last seen wearing a light brown jumper, black pants and white shoes.

The teenagers were wearing black backpacks. Anyone with information is asked to ontact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
