West Ham manager David Moyes says Lukasz Fabianksi “seems OK” although admits he is “worried” about the goalkeeper's eye socket after a nasty collision in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest, ahead of Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth round clash with Manchester United.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper was left with a swollen eye after a coming-together with the knee of Filipe in the 69th-minute. He had to be replaced by Alphonse Areola and is a doubt for the trip to Old Trafford.
“You’ve probably seen Lukasz’s eye is quite bad, I think we’re more worried about his eye socket area, that sort of thing,” Moyes said of Fabianski post-match. “I’ve had a look, he seems okay. Obviously it’s come up very quickly and it’s black and blue.”

Meanwhile, summer recruit Lucas Paqueta suffered an injury scare during the first half before carrying on until his 83rd-minute substitution. As per Football London, Moyes detailed: “Paqueta went down with his shoulder where he’s had the problems, so I sort of thought ‘oh, here we go again.’
“He seemed to come through it quite well and did a lot of good things and things we really like.” Vladimir Coufal was forced off at half-time with a foot problem but ex-United boss Moyes explained his exit from the game.
He outlined: “Vladimir Coufal has got a bit of a heel injury, he’s been feeling a bit on his heel but I didn’t think it was quite that bad, but he had to come off with it at half-time.”
Meanwhile, United wait on the recovery of Anthony Martial, who has missed the last eight games with a hip injury including Sunday’s Carabao Cup final win. Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen are long-term absentees although the latter gave an update on his setback after full-time at Wembley.
"I am feeling well," he told MUTV. "It is always boring to be in a boot and to be on crutches, but I have left the crutches and am now only in a boot, and next week that should be gone then finally start learning to walk. But it feels good."
Eriksen is not expected to be back training until April at the earliest while Van de Beek is out for the rest of the season following his knee operation last month.
