World Surf League organisers have again postponed competition at the season-opening event in Hawaii because of poor conditions.

Only two days have been completed at the Billabong Pro after the competition window opened eight days ago.

The men have surfed round one plus the elimination round, with all seven Australian men advancing to the round of 32.

The women, who were last in the water on Friday, are up to the quarter-finals.

Australia's reigning world champion Stephanie Gilmore was a shock elimination, losing in the sudden-death round against two American teenagers.
