World's strongest beard? Man breaks world record by pulling 5,687lb bus with beard

You've heard of the world's strongest man, but have you heard of the world's strongest beard?

Ukrainian strongman Dmytro Hrunskyi has broken the Guinness World Record of heaviest vehicle pulled by the beard by drawing in a bus weighing 5,687lb. (2,580kg).

But that wasn't his first attempt. The 35-year-old had tried to set a record once before, three and a half years ago, but failed after his whiskers were pulled out in the process.

Hrunskyi shared that since his previous attempt, he “grew his beard longer” and he “experimented” with different ways to braid his beard to make it “as strong and rope-like as possible”.

He beat the previous world record set by Lithuania’s Antanas Kontrimas, who pulled a vehicle weighing 4,303lb. (1,952kg) with his beard a decade ago.

Adding another record to his roster, Hrunskyi also pulled the heaviest vehicle (by the neck) at 17,107lb (7,760kg), becoming the first person to ever do so.  He beat his previous 2022 record for the heaviest train pulled by the neck, drawing in a train weighing 71,650lb. (32,500 kg).

Hrunskyi also broke his own record for most cars pulled with his teeth, by pulling seven cars (with a driver inside too, Guinness World Records said). The previous record had been six cars, set by Hrunskyi in 2022.

Speaking to Guinness World Records, Hrunskyi has said he'll be striving to continue breaking his own records. “My hobby is extreme power tricks, and my goal is to be a multiple record holder,” he added.

He also noted that the new records have a deeper significance: “I dedicate this record to my country, Ukraine, which has been fighting for more than a year and does not give up.”
