When Janine Ross opened a packet of Asda own-brand onion rings, she had no idea the monumental discovery she would soon make.
Not only does the maize snack not look like an onion ring - as is it sausage shaped - but it is huge and measures around 20cm long.
She believes it is the 'world's biggest crisp' from a packet, which cost 69 pence.
(We'll leave the row about it being a 'crisp' or a 'baked maize and semolina-based snack' for another day).
The 38-year-old was at a birthday party with her friend's daughter Izzy were sharing the treats when they made the staggering discovery.
The previous record for biggest crisp is 15cm - a Morrisons Best brand Sweet Chilli Crisp, discovered by Daniel Heginbotham in December 2019.
Janine, from Liverpool, explained how it was difficult to get a precise size as the onion ring is twisty and not straight.

She said: "We were at a birthday party when I found it, everyone was shocked and just started laughing hysterically.
"We weren't expecting one that size, we have quite a few packets a month and they are usually the regular O shape - but this one was huge.

"If it was straightened out it would be about 20cm long. I took a picture of it by a tape measure and you can see it's massive."

She believes it to be a production line error.
"It's like they all come in a tube and are cut down, but that process missed this one," she said.
"It feels lucky - we might go and buy a lottery ticket now."
She hasn't eaten it and described it as "our prized possession".
While there have been bigger crisps manufactured for record attempts, this is believed to be the biggest accidentally produced crisp ever made.
