An ice cream farm popular with families in Cheshire is home to the 'world's first' ice cream drive-in. The Ice Cream Farm near Tattenhall also claims to be the "world's largest ice cream parlour" - and has created the drive in for those who prefer to order from the comfort of their car.
The drive-in (rather than a drive-through) has been created at a 'scenic spot' next to the sprawling site's family play park in the midst of the Cheshire countryside near Chester. Anyone driving to the site will be able to park up next to an ordering bay, and select from a huge variety of flavours using a QR code.
The treat will then be delivered to visitors by a golf buggy where the ice creams can be enjoyed 'in the comfort of their car'. The drive in was first launched at the popular ice cream farm during the pandemic in 2020, but has now been redeveloped and relaunched for the summer with the new App system for easier ordering.

Now that we're in the midst of the school summer holidays, bosses hope the drive in will offer a more convenient way to get ice cream for those who would rather not wade through all the crowds inside the attraction's huge play area. The new feature is being billed as a "major new attraction" by the county's Marketing Cheshire tourist board.
The Cheshire Farm Ice Cream business has been making ice cream for more than 30 years. The farm is now visited by more than half a million people every year, reports Cheshire Live.
Since 2015, more than £5 million has been spent on its 'complete redevelopment'. According to the attraction's website, it now holds the Guinness World Record for the largest ice cream shop in the world and biggest sand and water play area in Europe.
A spokesperson for Marketing Cheshire said: "The world's first ice cream drive-in has opened – and it's not down by the seashore but in the dairy pastures of rural Cheshire.
"Top UK tourist attraction The Ice Cream Farm is now serving scoops freshly made by its neighbour Cheshire Farm Ice Cream to visitors in the comfort of their car.
"A scenic spot has been created for the Ice Cream Drive In at the family play park near Tattenhall. Drivers can stop by and order a cone by using a QR code, which is then delivered by golf buggy to the car.
"An area with deckchairs has also been added so that cyclists and walkers can use the service, too. And Cool Dog is on the digital menu for canine visitors."
Marketing Cheshire are aiming to encourage more visitors to the county to explore the wealth of ice cream farms across the dairy-rich county. It has created a family-friendly "Delicious Dozen Ice Cream Trail" featuring 12 venues worth a visit.
