Record-breaking electric supercar manufacturer McMurtry Automotive has entered into a strategic collaboration with Myenergi, one of the fastest growing green-tech companies.
Knowledge, expertise and engineering prowess will be shared between the company behind the Speirling, a 1,000bhp ultimate track car, and the Grimsby firm, in a bid to further accelerate the transition to electrification. With former F1 racer Max Chilton at the wheel, the electric single seater set a new record for the hill climb at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and since then has demonstrated a world-beating 0-60mph time of just 1.4 seconds.
Renowned for its solar-compatible Zappi EV charger, Myenergi prides itself on setting the standard for green home energy innovation. It has pioneered an extensive portfolio of eco-smart home energy technologies, selling more than 500,000 devices worldwide, and growing to an employer of more than 400. It has been officially recognised as a top 10 high growth business.

Jordan Brompton, co-founder and chief marketing officer at Myenergi, said: ”Our mission is to pioneer a simple transition to renewable energy, so we are incredibly excited to be partnering with a fellow pioneer that is working on that same transition with what is arguably the world’s most exciting electric car. We are very clear that, to reach mass adoption, our message needs to reach beyond early adopters and to a new audience. The partnership with McMurtry Automotive gives us that reach to a whole new legion of future fans.”
Myenergi is already involved in the Extreme E off-road racing championship, backing the Hispano Suiza Xite Energy Team. It has also been named as the official charing partner for the 2023 British Motor Show in August.
Now its branding - already championed by home club Grimsby Town in this year's FA Cup quarter finals, with the shirt sponsor hosting the pre-match media activity at its Stallingborough HQ - will adorn the fan model of the £820,000 car. It launched at an event in Dubai this month.
Over the next two years, the car will be showcased at events and exhibitions around the world, with appearances in the UK, Germany, and the USA diarised. Both firms were founded in 2016. Exports are a key element of Myenergi's growth drive.
Myenergi has also been named as the official charging partner for the 2023 British Motor Show, taking place at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, in August. The Speirling will also be there.
Thomas Yates, managing director of Gloucestershire-based McMurtry Automotive, said: “The collaboration was born after the two companies met in 2022. It was clear we both shared a desire to showcase the best of British-engineered EV products on the world stage. We’re very excited for Myenergi to joining us for the challenge to break more four-wheeled records with the McMurtry Spéirling.
“Over the coming months, Myenergi branding will start to appear on the Spéirling fan car as we travel across the UK and worldwide to showcase the pinnacle of electric capability. We’ve also got a few surprises up our sleeves in terms of secret projects and activations. Keep your ears to the ground – you really won’t want to miss a second!”
