The world's biggest jumping castle is coming to Canberra in March.
But that's just the start. An inflatable almost-city will be coming to life in the national capital.
The Big Bounce Australia is touted as the largest touring inflatable event in the world.
The 10-metre-high jumping castle, which covers more than 1500 square metres, is just part of a massive event that will cover multiple areas of inflatable fun over 15,000 square metres.
There is also a 300m-long inflatable obstacle course as well as slides, ball pits, a maze and climbing walls.
Bubbles, DJs and a giant maze will add to the fun.
The Big Bounce will be in Canberra for just three days on March 4, 5 and 6.
There will be separate sessions for kids and adults.
"The venue will be announced in the coming weeks," the co-founder Cameron Craig told The Canberra Times in an interview from Scotland, where their company XL Events Labs is based.
"We are finalising the finer details then will be ready to announce the location."
The Big Bounce was founded by Brits Cameron Craig and Grahame Ferguson, who got the idea for while working together at a music festival in the United Kingdom.
"Whilst there were some family attractions there, including the usual type of kids' jumping castle, we watched bored parents mill around while their children had fun jumping and bouncing," Cameron said.
Cameron and Grahame decided it would be "quite cool to make a jumping castle big enough for mum and dad to play on with the kids and that's where The Big Bounce started".
They reckon it's all about "shoes off, party on" and the event now tours the world.
"We've created an action-packed day out for you and all your friends to enjoy, featuring some of the most unique and exciting custom-built inflatable attractions ever made," Cameron said.
The Big Bounce owners achieved the title of largest inflatable (bouncy) castle in 2018, getting the official seal of approval from Guinness World Records.
The title was set in America, with a castle that was 1062.252 square metres, the structure "40 times the size of an average house and four times bigger than the previous title-holder".
The Australia tour will also take in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney and Perth.
Cameron said tickets were already on sale for the event in the national capital.
News of the festival-feel event comes as Canberra is emerging from lockdown.
"The response from the Canberra community has already been truly incredible," he said.
"We are sure people are ready to get back to enjoying outdoor entertainment again with friends and family."
There are timed sessions for toddlers, older children and adults.
The tickets are for three hours, all-access.
Children up to three years must be accompanied by a paying adult.
