"Glasgow's Ibrox Stadium is an institution. According to well-travelled fan experts, this is the best football atmosphere in the world."
That's a hell of a review from Süddeutsche Zeitung but those within Ibrox on Thursday will find it hard to disagree after a Europa League night for the ages.
The German publication were left blown away by the incredible crescendo that erupted following James Tavernier 's strike that made it 2-2 on the night and secured Rangers a 6-4 aggregate win.
But they also lamented the Jekyll and Hyde nature of Marco Rose's side as once again their German efficiency in the final third was undone by Chuckle Brothers-esque slapstick defending at the back.
They added: "Somewhere between heaven and hell, Dortmund play the whole season.
"Sometimes jubilant, sometimes saddened to death. "Do or die", eat or die.
"There is a kind of pattern in Dortmund's zigzag, because if there is a lot at stake in a single game, then the chances of BVB showing a good performance increase.
"But this pattern wasn't worth that much on Thursday. About as little as the 6-0 win in the Bundesliga against Borussia Mönchengladbach four days earlier.
"One could have thought that Dortmund would take this sense of achievement with them to Glasgow. A bit of it was rudimentary to recognize, but just not enough."
German tabloid Bild pulled no punches, branding Dortmund's efforts as a joke.
They opined: "That was not enough! Borussia Dortmund missed the Euro miracle at Glasgow Rangers. After the 4-2 disaster in the first leg, a 2-2 draw in Glasgow is not enough to progress.
"The club had such big goals. After third place in the Champions League, BVB chief Watzke had demanded the title win in December: 'This is the title that Borussia Dortmund is still missing.'
"But instead of winning the Europa League, Borussia made a fool of themselves against the Scots and were eliminated in the play-offs for the round of 16!"
Die Welt kept it simple as they branded Dortmund a "lightweight"
Forget Tavernier's goals, Marca had a different view, as they credited Barcelona for being involved in the Germans' shock exit at the hand of Rangers.
They said: "Barça also got rid of two serious rivals on the same evening, as Dortmund failed to catch up against Glasgow Rangers.
"Borussia was hooked. Still deprived of Erling Haaland, finally had to settle for an insufficient draw, following a double from Tavernier, the hero of Ibrox."
American-based Bleacher Report were left open-jawed as they hit the stats bomb following Dortmund's uncerminious exit.
They posted on Twitter: "Dortmund fail to make it to the round of 16 in a European competition for the first time since 2011-12."
That sums up what Rangers were able to achieve. A night for the ages.
And the' incredible result was also savoured in Honduras!
Their national title had nothing but good things to say about Gio van Bronckhorst's side as they go into the last 16 of the Europa League.
La Prensa wrote: "Borussia Dortmund did not overcome the equaliser, they restored to long balls and direct play. But Rangers never lost their composure. They kept to type and endured and that led them into the last 16 of the Europa League."
A final word from Germany as their media raved about the danger Rangers posed every time they broke in the second period as Abendzeitung saluted Ryan Kent and Co.
Their report stated: "Even after the restart, Dortmund went into action with a lot of commitment, but only rarely found their way into the opponent's penalty area. That put Rangers back in the game.
"With bad consequences for BVB: Tavernier punished an unsuccessful attempt by Mats Hummels to defend himself with his second goal.
"This sealed the end of the Bundesliga club. Although he tried hard for the third goal, but ran in vain. With counterattacks, the Scots were more dangerous than BVB."
