There's still plenty of football to be played, but England fans will no doubt be dreaming that their team can finally end 56 years of hurt and lift the World Cup in Qatar.
A drab 0-0 draw with the USA aside, Gareth Southgate's men have performed brilliantly at this tournament so far, booking their place in the quarter-finals by sweeping aside Senegal 3-0 in the last 16.
But if they are to go any further, they will have to topple the defending champions France, who are understandably many people's favourites to go all the way, such is their enviable strength in depth.
They also have the luxury of having Kylian Mbappe to call on, with the forward widely considered to be the best player in the world right now.
Nevertheless, England will be hoping to secure a positive result.
To win one of sport's greatest prizes is incentive enough, but there are also some pretty handsome financial rewards for the side that goes all the way.
FIFA recently confirmed that the tournament winners will receive a record £35million, up £3million from 2018 in Russia and a £27million increase from the 2006 World Cup.
On top of that, England's players are also expected to secure bonuses of around £400,000 each if they manage to get their hands on the famous trophy.
Those figures could well increase when factoring in possible endorsement deals. Victory over France would be a significant step to securing that package.
