World Cup 2022 winner outright odds ahead of Group Stage draw from Qatar

Brazil and France have been priced as the joint-favourites to win the World Cup this year in Qatar with the draw just days away from happening. Both nations are priced at 11/2 with Betfred and the group stage draw is due to take place in the host's capital city of Doha on Friday (April 1).

At the time of the draw, we will have 28 confirmed nations of the 32 participants, with four places still to be decided including Wales' and Scotland's fate. Wales, who are 150/1 longshots, secured a 2-1 win over Austria in their play-off match. But Scotland's match with Ukraine being called off they will have to wait a little longer to decided who will take the final spot from a UEFA-nation.

England will be looking to make their mark on the world stage with the Three Lions priced at 7/1 as third favourites to win their first World Cup since 1966. Gareth Southgate's side had no issue during the qualification stage while European champions Italy - who beat England last year - suffered a shock defeat to North Macedonia who later bowed out thanks to a Bruno Fernandes brace for Portugal.

The world stage will once again have some of football's biggest stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi which will no doubt be their last World Cup for their respective countries, while the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar will also take part. However, thee will be a number of notable absentees including Egypt's Mo Salah who missed his penalty in the decider against Senegal, Erling Haaland after Norway finished third in their qualification group behind Netherlands and Turkey plus Zlatan Ibrahimovic who lost to Poland in the play-off round.

This World Cup will be different for a number of reasons with the event commencing in November and ending in December instead of the traditional June-July format while hosts Qatar will make their debut having never qualified for a World Cup beforehand.
