It's coming home! England have been cut into 8-1 with Betfred to win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after thrashing Iran by six goals to two in their opening Group B fixture.
The Three Lions made short work of a limited Iranian outfit, establishing a three-goal lead by the interval thanks to goals from Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling.
Saka went on to double his tally in the second period before Marcus Rashford bagged the fifth despite having only been on the pitch for five minutes. Jack Grealish, another second half substitute, got in on the act with England's final goal.
Iran struck twice in the second half, which raises questions about the England defence, but the points were never in doubt.
England are now warm 1-5 favourites to progress from Group B as winners, with Wales and the USA meeting later today.
Harry Kane's blank means that the England captain has been pushed out to 9-1 from 7-1 for Golden Boot honours, with two-goal hero Saka now as short as 20-1 from 100-1.
The Arsenal star has also been slashed into 7-4 favourite to be England's top scorer in the competition, ahead of Harry Kane who has been pushed out to 4-1 - the same price as Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham.
Brazil, who kick-off their campaign against Serbia on Thursday evening, remain 3-1 tournament favourites ahead of fellow South Americans Argentina (11-2).
